(CNN) — There’s a lot of talk about luxury’s rising prices, but it’s at auction that fashion is selling for the most eye-popping of sums. Fashion items from the sets of TV, film and even commercials can also garner high prices. Frank Augstein/APWhile selling prices are widely publicized, auction houses maintain something akin to attorney-client privilege when it comes to the identities of their bidders. In fact, much of the archival fashion seen on stars today has passed through auction. “That dress would now sell for $10 million because of that double whammy connection of a celebrity,” said Nolan.

CNN —The stars of the new “Wicked” movie appear to be gearing up for an epic “method dressing” press tour, having opted for color-coded looks on the Oscars red carpet Sunday night in Los Angeles. Cynthia Erivo wore a bewitching emerald-green custom leather Louis Vuitton gown with structured ruffle sleeves and train, as a nod to her, well, “wicked” character Elphaba. Cynthia Erivo arrives at the Oscars channeling her character Elphaba, Wicked Witch of the West in the fictional world of Oz. A few years back, she began thinking about AI after working on a fashion game tied to a line she designed for Walmart. The tagged imagery is fed into the AI model to train it. “It took us about a month to get it to the right point,” said Cyril Foiret, founder and creative director of Maison Meta. Foiret said they essentially had to develop a mini AI model just for that. Last year, she contacted Maison Meta, which was creating a name for itself through projects like organizing the first AI Fashion Week with Revolve.
